Volunteer Opportunities

The Rock Bible College has grown to the point where it is in need of over 25 individuals to serve in key ministry support positions on an ongoing basis. These opportunities will enable the college alumni to use their Biblical studies education or anyone else who has a desire to serve in a college environment to use their God given talents, temperaments, and motivational gifts to serve the TRBC student body.

  • Event and Hospitality Coordinator

    Job Summary: The TRBC Events and Hospitality Coordinator's role is to serve as a recruiter, point person, advisor, and encourager for the entire volunteer team. The Coordinator will be the first person to initiate the volunteer onto the team and will ensure that the volunteer feels like an important part of TRBC throughout the academic year. In addition, the Coordinator will be the overseer of prayer, greeters, events, and all food and beverages at all school events.


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Recruit new and maintain correct number of volunteers
    • Ensure each volunteer commits to one year and places them in the appropriate area of service that meets both the needs of TRBC and fulfills the volunteer’s talents
    • Ensure that all volunteers attend meetings, have appropriate paperwork, receives training, is encouraged, etc.
    • Prior to the "all volunteer" meeting(s), the Coordinator will discuss potential job roles and Team Leads with TRBC Leadership
    • Attend TRBC related meetings
    • Follow-up to ensure that all Team Leads maintain the training for their teams
    • Maintain contact with the Team Leads for anything that needs to be addressed, schedules, recommended changes, etc.
    • Collect and manage the volunteer applications for potential volunteers and forward them to the Volunteer Department
    • Assist in creating a strategy for recruiting and building volunteer teams
    • Alongside the TRBC Registrar and Operations Manager, the Coordinator will assist with all special events, including Open House, New Student Orientation, TRBC Beginning of the Year Party, End of the Year Party, Graduation Commencement Ceremony, and any other events during the academic year
    • Directly reports to the TRBC Registrar and meets periodically to discuss how the volunteers are doing and to check to see if the Registrar wants to implement any changes

  • Administrative Services

    Job Summary: Administrative Support Team will work with the TRBC Registrar and assist with daily administrative and customer service functions of the TRBC office and staff. They will help with the development, implementation and application of TRBC policies and procedures in relation to the operations of TRBC. As an extension of The Rock Church and World Outreach Center, they will ensure that TRBC reflects the church’s standard of excellence.


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Assist with the maintenance of student records (i.e. financial records, grades, etc.)
    • Facilitate the reproduction, folding, stapling and mailing of letters, badges, handouts, brochures, flyers, handbooks, exams, and miscellaneous materials
    • Ensure items produced and distributed to TRBC students, instructors, guests, congregation, etc. meet the standards of excellence established by TRBC Leadership
    • Ensure students receive excellent “customer service” when they interact with the Administration Office
    • Ensure excellent customer service in all areas of the office both verbally (answering phones) and in writing (any correspondence) including but not limited to: assisting the TRBC Administration and students with inquiries, issues, processes, etc.
    • Data entry
    • Assist TRBC Leadership Team with additional duties as needed


    Job Skills and Requirements:
    • Volunteer hours will fall between The Rock Church’s office hours between Mondays and Fridays from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

  • Academic Counselor

    Job Summary: The Academic Counselor’s role is to oversee the Applied Learning Experience class, as well as identify students who may be having difficulty in completing course assignments in other classes and assist them with any academic needs.


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Assist with recording Applied Learning Experience grades
    • Establish rapport with students, instructors, interns, ministry departments, and volunteers
    • A report will be generated for the counselor each semester to set up a meeting with students who have been identified as having academic issues.
    • Follow-up meetings must be set up through instant alerts during weeks 4 & 5 and weeks 8 & 9. Calendar invites must be sent to TRBC Registrar.
    • Add detailed notes in the student’s profile after each meeting with the student
    • Identify specific areas in which the student needs improvement. Then, develop an action plan to help them with their academic skills.
    • Stay in constant communication with TRBC with student progress and concerns

  • Tutoring Resources Center

    Job Summary: The Tutoring Resource Center Support Team will tutor students where they need academic assistance. In addition, the Tutoring Resource Center Support Team will address any technical MyTRBC questions from students, proctor quizzes/exams to students, and other ongoing projects as deemed necessary.


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Tutor students with academic challenges
    • Helps students develop study strategies
    • Develop tutoring plan that fits each students’ individual needs
    • Prepare tutoring sessions to ensure the student’s academic success
    • Work alongside assigned TRBC Instructor to tailor success for all tutored students enrolled in their specific course
    • Contact TRBC Instructor to discuss curriculum, strategies of success, and obtain course syllabus and handouts
    • Exchange contact information with students to contact them directly with schedule changes
    • Call students within 24 hours advanced notice if unable to keep your scheduled session
    • Guide students with MYTRBC questions and concerns before school, during breaks, and by appointment (i.e. submitting papers, answering any MYTRBC questions, etc.)
    • Proctor quizzes/exams
    • Scan and photocopy classroom materials for tutoring sessions
    • Ensure students receive excellent “customer service” when they interact with the Tutoring Resource Center, which may include
    but is not limited to the following: prayer, encouragement, tutoring, time management assistance, and academic counseling • Report to Student Resource Center Coordinator
    • Assist Student Resource Center Coordinator with additional duties as needed


    Job Skills and Requirements:
    • Tutoring schedule: Saturdays from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
    • Have successfully completed the course for which tutoring services are being provided with earning a grade of at least a B
    • Recommendation from a TRBC Instructor of specific course you wish to tutor in
    • Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
    • Demonstrate knowledge and competence in the assigned TRBC course
    • Enjoy tutoring the TRBC course where tutoring services are being provided
    • Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment
    • Be able to explain concepts to others effectively
    • Desire to serve TRBC Staff and TRBC Leadership with the gifts, abilities and talents that God has given you

  • Teacher Aide

    Job Summary: Teacher Aides will work with the TRBC faculty to assist with classroom setup and provide administrative/clerical support for classroom facilitation and ongoing projects as needed.


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Assist the classroom instructor with class setup in MyTRBC.
    • Classroom set-up (i.e., bottled water, projector, video, and audio set-up)
    • Record and input class attendance, copy handouts and course materials, grade quizzes and exams, filing, and other office tasks
    • Responsible to assist an instructor 5:30 pm – 9:55 pm on either Tuesday or Thursday

  • Student Resources Center Assistant

    Job Summary: The Student Resource Center is the "customer service" arm of the Bible College. The Student Resource Team assists the students with questions, issues, appointments, tuition payments, prayer, etc. This position ensures students receive excellent "customer service" (i.e. questions answered, information imparted, assistance provided, etc.).


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Establish rapport with students, instructors, and volunteers
    • Ensure students receive excellent "customer service" when they interact with Student Resource Center
    • Ensure students have current information regarding courses, course requirements, student policies and procedures (i.e. attendance, standards of conduct, schedules, etc)
    • Assist the students with snack sales, TRBC Gear, and class ring orders
    • Assist the Administration Office with student ID card distribution, attendance roster collection, restocking snack cabinet, and other Student Resource Center tasks
    • Responsible for "on-site visits" of potential students and students’ guests
    • Assist TRBC Leadership with additional duties as needed
    • Reports to Student Resource Center Team Leader for schedule and direction
    • Reports to Student Resource Center Coordinator during scheduled shift
    • Responsible for contacting the Student Resource Center Team Leader within reasonable time if you are unable to serve your scheduled shift

  • Security Coordinator

    Job Summary: The Security Coordinator will report directly to the Student Resource Coordinator. He or she is responsible for helping to ensure the general security and safety of the building and its contents, students, staff and volunteers at TRBC and any other people that are present on the TRBC campus during school hours. The Security Coordinator should have knowledge of The Rock Church Security protocol and should assist the Student Resource Team in following those guidelines.


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Preferred schedule: 5:30 pm – 9:55 pm either Tuesday or Thursday
    • Patrol the entire TRBC campus during school hours to ensure security of premises, including parking lot and all accessible areas inside buildings. This includes periodically walking through and around the entire campus to visually inspect the premises and ensure security. Be sure to communicate the time of your patrol to Student Resource Coordinator to ensure that someone is at the Lion’s Den at all times.
    • Be informed of what staff/volunteers are working on campus and what other events are going on during school hours (Includes teachers, office staff, etc.)
    • Be aware of and be present when possible during the exchanging of money at the Student Resource Center (The Lion’s Den)
    • Ensure that Student Resource Coordinator is escorted when money is being transferred from one part of the building to another
    • Be aware of any suspicious activity on campus, including but not limited to: unfamiliar people on campus, uncommon or strange behavior of men towards women, bags, backpacks, or boxes being left vacant on property for a long period of time
    • Be aware of students who are leaving school early. If someone is leaving because of a health issue, make sure that they are walked to their car and leave campus safely.
    • Monitor traffic of people at front doors of building and Sanctuary
    • Oversee the Student Security Team:
      • Recruit and train team members
      • Schedule team members
      • Keep track of attendance of team members and performance
    • Communicate with Security Director regarding security issues
    • Ensure security of all women in parking lot
    • Please Keep in Mind: Start off the night with prayer, and remain prayerful through the night
