This course shows how common sense and critical thinking, in addition to supernatural demonstrations of power, agree with the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith in the face of denials by the historical religions of the world, and by the false philosophical assumptions of current Western thought, including secular humanism, scientific naturalism, Marxism, Critical Theory (wokeism), and bad religions. We will focus on why we reject opposing worldviews, why we believe what we believe about the nature of God, the problem of bad religions, the reliability of the Bible, the uniqueness and finality of Jesus Christ, and a case study contrasting covenant government with tyranny. We will also learn and practice the skills of how to speak to hostile hearers and overcome intellectual roadblocks to trusting and obeying the God of the Bible.
